The Fours Program

The Fours Program at the ECC helps children continue to grow and learn in a nurturing and creative environment, all while preparing them for kindergarten. Kids learn about engaging and wide-ranging topics—the solar system, famous artists, and the Olympics, to name a few—take part in a variety of fun and creative projects, such as creating a “me museum”, and spend lots of time exploring nature and the outdoors on the ECC grounds. Exploration of science and mathematics is interwoven into the whole day. The children explore all types of literature and are introduced to new books everyday. Handwriting Without Tears is utilized to set the groundwork for exploring handwriting and to develop a good pencil grip (which will follow your child throughout their school career). The ECC faculty strive to develop a sense of wonder in their students so that they will develop creative thinking and problem solving skills. The children are encouraged to ask “Why"? and are led to find the answers. They are encouraged to create through open=ended art, through block building , and through scientific discovery in our nature based, outdoor classroom. This is a special year of discovery, friendship and growth and a wonderful journey that the teachers and children embark on together.

The Four’s team of teachers includes Debbie Tashoff and Kim Vo-Tran, and Soledad Tapia..

The core program runs from 9am to 12pm and runs 5 days a week. Parents also have the choice to send their children to Seven Sessions.
