What Our Parents Say
“The search for the right nursery school for my daughter ended the moment I stepped foot into ECC.  This school has become our home away from home. It is a place where my toddler has grown and so have I. It is a place where every staff member makes you feel like your child is their favorite. I could not imagine this incredible journey anywhere else.” - Ryan Fargnoli

“The ECC was a wonderful experience for both my son and me. I enjoyed being there as much as he did! It was a nurturing environment filled with an amazing teaching and administrative staff.”   - Shari Caranante

“We are proud to say that all three of our children spent their preschool years at the Early Childhood Center. It was a special time that we all remember fondly. The learning and play based activities that they participated in no doubt allowed them to be ready for when they entered Kindergarten. In addition, some of the social relationships that they forged with other children at ECC still continue on today! The teachers at ECC are caring and dedicated to what they do, always working to create an inviting and nurturing environment for the children. They are professional in their approach to helping kids learn and develop, but at the same time, always make it fun and interesting for the kids each day. When each of our children left ECC and started Kindergarten, we knew that they were ready thanks to the teachers at ECC. We would highly recommend ECC to anyone looking for a nurturing and caring preschool. We are blessed to be part of the ECC family.” - The Berger Family

“When I think about the last day our youngest child will spend at ECC, I start to get very, very sad. Happily for me and him, though, that day is still 16 months away! My family has been intimately connected to and involved with ECC for the past four year – four positively life-changing years during which my children have blossomed from wobbly toddlers into happy, confident, sure-footed young boys. The teachers and staff of ECC genuinely LOVE the children in their care and possess a seemingly endless reservoir of patience for even the crankiest child. They’re also quite clever and creative; they find smart ways to turn even simply play activities into an opportunity for learning (but shhhh, don’t tell the kids!). To top it all off, if any one of my children’s teachers has ever had a “bad day”, they certainly had me fooled. Although our time at ECC must inevitably come to an end, what thankfully won’t end are the strong friendships my boys have formed with several of their classmates, and I with many of their friends’ mothers.”   - Sarah Griffith Wrede

“We researched and visited many preschool programs throughout White Plains. Ultimately, we chose the Early Childhood Center because of the people. Throughout our many years here, the director and staff have taken care of our two boys, now ages 8 and 4, like they were their own. They have provided structure and discipline and created an environment that made learning fun. They’ve gone out their way to work with us on any issue and to ensure both our boys were well-adjusted, happy and prepared to enter kindergarten. The Early Childhood Center has been the foundation for a lifetime of learning and we are forever grateful." - Margaret & Matt Brown

“We have only wonderful things to share about ECC and the experience my three children had while attending the 2’s, 3’s and 4’s programs. Over the course of my children’s preschool careers, our family has formed strong bonds with the teachers, students, and other families at ECC. The amazing teachers are so dedicated to providing a nurturing, caring environment that allows children to grow and develop at their own pace, in their own time. A child’s first experience with school should be positive, fun, and encourage discovery, and that is exactly what the teachers at ECC provide for their students. And all the while, they are learning so much! They learn how to play and interact with their peers, how to participate in a group setting where everyone is respected and free to share their own thoughts and ideas, and they learn to appreciate the individuality of each member of the group. The curriculum was great and all my children enjoyed participating in Lunch Bunch and Creative Kids. They were ready for kindergarten both academically and socially. We high recommend ECC for a child’s first school experience. We couldn’t imagine sending our children anywhere else!" - Melissa & Stephen Ferrara

“One thing that sticks out from my experience with ECC is the teachers’ dedication to the children and their attention to detail. Even in the brief moments during pick-up time, the teachers like to inform parents individually of what they did in class or little funny things that their child did in particular. I think this really helps me to see my son from a different perspective and fosters a deeper parent-child connection. Added to that, the class newsletters, emails and consistent communication from the Director, keep me informed and thus involved with my son’s school life.” - Annie Soh

“My daughter is currently in the 4’s program and started with ECC when she was two in September 2012. She has really enjoyed her ‘special school’, as she calls it. The teachers are incredibly nurturing and attentive to the children. They observe where their interests lie and encourage those interests through playtime, projects, and/or stories read to the class. While they focus on the developmental needs of the individual children, they are also encouraging relationships among the children in the class. The children are having such a great time here; they don’t even realize what they are learning- which is exactly how it should be at this age. The extra programs they bring to the school – whether it is yoga, or the animals, or music – all enrich the children in different ways, help build new words, etc…but to the children it is just fun! The Lunch Bunch program and Creative Kids classes in the afternoon offer additional opportunities for the children to socialize and learn new things. I am very happy with ECC as our choice for preschool – our daughter is so happy here and is developing so beautifully, and I give ECC teachers and school director much credit for creating such a happy learning environment for preschoolers."  - Carmela Curran

“After we moved from another state and started researching preschools in the area, many families in our neighborhood recommended ECC. I’m so glad we took their advice; my family has been so happy with ECC. My sons’ wonderful twos teachers were so welcoming to new families and had incredible patience. This year, my younger son’s threes teacher provides a print rich environment which my son has been soaking up like a sponge. My older son’s fours teacher woke up his inner scientist in her Creative Kids class and the different animals in her classroom. I love the nature hikes that the children are able to take in the adjoining field. So far, the 41/2 years we’ve been at ECC have flown by. The different class options based on days per week along with the Lunch Bunch and Creative Kids classes are great. Whether it’s color week, pajama day, a visit from Nature of Things or just a regular school day, my kids always looked forward to school.” - Victoria Weinberg

“Our twin boys are completing their third and final year at the ECC, and it has been a wonderful experience for our family. The boys enjoyed all of the exciting experiences and loved to share with us the details of each and every day. The different teachers we’ve had put a great deal of energy into creating a warm classroom community that celebrates each child’s individual interests and talents. We certainly appreciate the child-focused approach and wonderful parent communication. Thank you for all that was done to make these precious years so special for Patrick and Thomas.” - Bonnie Fandetti
